After two years of pilot projects funded by BB&T and The McDonough Foundation, The West Virginia Food and Farm Coalition has published the first draft of Farmers Market SNAP Outreach: Tactics and Best Practices in West Virginia. The pilot projects covered a variety of SNAP Outreach/Marketing strategies that included SNAP-match, on-site/print advertising, raffles, and on-site SNAP-education.
The toolkit was presented at the 2014 WVU Small Farm Conference to a group of Farmers Market managers. Feedback was recorded, and a more in-depth toolkit will be available in time for the 2014 market season.
