After months of development, input, and feedback, the Meat Processing Working Group is now making A West Virginia Producer’s Guide to Processing & Marketing Meat & Poultry available to the public.
The intent of the guide is to help current and future meat & poultry producers understand the federal and state laws that apply to their meat sales operations.
The guide is designed to answer farmers’ questions such as:
The guide was assembled and reviewed by staff from the West Virginia Food & Farm Coalition and the Meat Processing Working Working Group, West Virginia University College of Law, WVU Extension Service, and the West Virginia Department of Agriculture.
